Arlesburgh West is the top station of Duck's Branch Line. The station is also the terminal of the Arlesdale Railway and the harbour station of the Mid Sodor Railway.
Arlesburgh Shed is located here and is home to the engines from the Branch Line. There is also a ballast loader and Yard from the "Small Railway" and the NWR there.
The station was opened, only to serve the nearby harbour, in 1862. The NWR reached Arlesburgh in 1916, but after the Mid Sodor Railway was closed in 1947 Arlesburgh West and the branch line closed, too. The Station was reopened in 1968 and since then ballast from the mines on the Arlesdale Railway are loaded there via the ballast loader on the goods of the NWR.
